Shany Van den Berg's new solo exhibition 'BinneTuin' or, 'Garden Within' is on show at Everard Read Cape Town.
The show features works inspired by the artist's time living in Paris during a six-week residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in 2023. During this period, Van den Burg was influenced by the sprawling gardens and wildlife enriching the urban landscape of the city of Paris.
Shany Van den Berg's work generally meditates on her life as a woman, and the different roles this has informed living through different chapters. She is known to work between mediums, and considers both her interior and exterior landscapes she experiences.
Weaving deep personal grief with meditations on nature's power, this show offers guests insight into her time painting abroad through a collection of painted and sculpted floral-inspired works.
