Event information
Franco-Togolese artist Sar La Rouge brings five of her projects off the screen, with two events over the weekend that combine bold digital collages with hand-drawn techniques. A beautiful Constantia home transforms into an immersive art gallery, all to answer the question: what is left of our lives beyond the screens?
Starting on Friday, 8 May, the exhibit opens, promising an intimate evening for the press, collectors, and guests to experience the work with a drink in hand, listening to live music by Dorette Roos, while having personal conversations with one another. Curated canapés are part of the experience, as is a tasting by local spirits brand Matawi.
On Saturday, 9 May, the home opens to families, who can explore the pieces at their own relaxed pace. Parents enjoy the space and take in the thought-provoking works brought into physical space, while kids participate in workshops and activities throughout the day.
All proceeds from ticket and art sales go to support The Bridge, a family orphanage and workshop space working in Hout Bay.
