Fine Music Radio presents the third and final instalment of Behind The Music with Rodney Trudgeon, marking fifty years of Trudgeon's career in radio. The intimate talk closes out a series in which the broadcaster has reflected on the music and moments that have defined his working life.
Trudgeon trained as a flautist and played briefly with the Durban Symphony Orchestra before moving into broadcasting, joining the SABC and later Classic FM in 2000. He has presented on Fine Music Radio since 2005 and served as the station's Programme Manager until 2022. He was inducted into the Liberty Radio Awards Hall of Fame in 2019 and is the author of Rodney Trudgeon's Concert Notes, published by Jonathan Ball Publishers.
The Third Movement focuses on the music that continues to inspire Trudgeon, presented in the same conversational format as the two previous instalments in the series. The evening opens with a complimentary welcome drink before the talk begins in the Opera Bar.
The talk runs 90 minutes with no interval and carries no age restriction.
