Event information
This museum started out with only 30 items, but their collection grew rapidly and now showcases over 1 900, many of which are rare and unique.
The burgeoning assortment entailed the building of a secondary structure in 1986, now known as AG Griffiths Hall, where half of their tractor collection can be seen. A third large building was completed in 1995, and the HH Norton Shed was re-erected on its present site, which is referred to as the Stationery Engine Room.
Exhibits include engines; a huge collection of yesteryear kitchen utensils; farmyard implements such as ploughs, rippers and mealie shellers and grinders in working order; transportation like trucks, animal drawn carts, buggies, spiders, and wagons; and tractors and crawlers, many in running order and ranging in age from the 1920’s to 1950’s.
There is also a windmill and a bucket pump piping water from a well called Bakkies Pomp. Open Fun Days are held annually.
