After a successful run at The Outlore Base, Baked Shakespeare's freshest production, 'The Two Gentlemen of Verona' comes to Cafe Roux, and not without their classic cannabis twist.
'The Two Gentlemen of Verona' is a Shakespearean comedy following the story of two friends, Valentine and Proteus, who are on the brink of their adulthood, experiencing adventure, betrayal and love for the first time. Chaos ensues when they both fix their eyes on the same girl. This show, directed by Kimberly Buckle, has something for everyone from steamy love triangles, gender bending, audience interaction, and of course, raucous fight scenes.
The show is performed with the popular Baked Shakespeare twist, which entails that the audience select two performers at the start of the show to be the designated ‘stoners’ for the night, setting off an interactive theatre experience that advocates for the commercial use of cannabis products. Baked Shakespeare is making The Bard’s legendary works accessible to a new generation of audience members, providing a new way to engage with live performance.
