Event information
As with most restaurants during the pandemic, Bukhara Restaurant took stock of its impressive long run (since 1995!) and how it'll put its next foot forward. The brief? Fresh ways to make fine dining Indian fare accessible and connect with the modern, trendy diner. Enter Awara (pronounced Ah-vah-rah), a new fusion-style eatery that serves as an extension to Cape Town's top Indian restaurant with some familiarities still in place.
In terms of dining, they've kept all the Bukhara hits so hardcore fans can still look forward to the famous Butter Chicken, Lal Maas lamb cooked to perfection, and comforting Dal Makhani among other signature curries and tandoori.
Generally, the atmosphere is intimate with classic elements of wood and greenery. Good for dates, post-work meetups, and sophisticated family outings. Whether you're in it for the food or late-night lounge feels, there's no denying Awara is a step in the right direction for Cape Town CBD.
