Avontuur Estate is a working wine and thoroughbred horse stud that operates a range of outdoor activities alongside its cellar door and accommodation offering. The estate is known by its tagline "Fine Wines, Fast Horses," reflecting the dual focus of its operation.
Three outdoor activities are available on the estate grounds. The Avontuur Padel Club offers outdoor courts with views across False Bay toward Table Mountain, with the Helderberg Mountain Range and horse paddocks as the surrounding backdrop. The facility accommodates social play, team building and private events, with rackets available for hire and bookings made via the Playtomic app.
The estate is also connected to the Winelands Cycling Club trail network, with an on-farm MTB trail extension that passes the padel facility and crosses the dam wall before connecting to the broader trail system. E-bikes are available for hire on the trail. The tasting room operates daily and offers estate wine tastings; the on-site restaurant is currently closed for renovations. The estate is a cashless facility. On-site parking is available.
