Event information
A picturesque avocado farm forms the backdrop of Agatha Crocodile Ranch. The obvious focus here is the crocs, which one gets to see at close range.
The ranch offers educational and fun tours covering the history, behaviour and conservation and breeding of the Nile crocodile, followed by a feeding show at the breeding dam and enclosures. Visitors also get to touch, hold and feed a baby crocodile.
Hour-long daily tours take place between 9am and 3.30pm, Monday to Sunday. They don’t have specific feeding times, and rather try and cater to visitors needs by producing a personalized show on arrival.
Some of their ‘legends’ include crocs called Stompie, Milan, Rufus, John and Linky. Rufus is their biggest crocodile and 4,7 meters long and approximately 45 years old.
The ranch has a curio shop on the premises that sells gifts and souvenir crocodile items. There’s also an art gallery that displays the work of local artists.
