Event information
Artists Steve David McKellar and Tessi perform in the September instalment of the Two Oceans Aquarium's After Dark Concert series.
After Dark 2024 is a stripped-down series of performances which take place in the otherworldly, watery setting of the aquarium, lending a blue glow to the atmosphere and welcoming some unlikely audience members.
Doors open at 6.30pm giving guests enough time to explore the aquarium before the first act starts at 8pm, and the second act is on at 9pm. Act one, Steve David McKellar, is a South African-born US-based musician and published poet, best known as the former guitarist and lead singer-songwriter for the rock band Civil Twilight. Steven’s vocals are characterized by an eerie falsetto that can be compared to Jeff Buckley and Thom Yorke.
Act two, Tessi, is an 18-year-old singer and multi-instrumentalist who describes music as her constant companion from a young age. Her seventh official single, ‘Time is a Thief’, is a soulful offering expressing the bittersweet reality of friendships, and combines RnB, Pop and Jazz.
