Event information
Brett Bailey’s festive outdoor spectacle returns to the amphitheatre at Spier Wine Farm for its fifth year, with a family-friendly show made for audiences from one to one hundred. Masked performers, dancers, actors and musicians lead the audience into a dreamlike world where human, animal and imaginary characters blur, in a procession of moths, sheep, alligators, unicorns and the occasional human being.
The production has an original score by Capetonian composer Jak Tomas, choreography by Natalie Fisher, and movement and mask work by Jayne Batzofin. Costumes are by Bailey and Enrique de Villiers, with lighting by Nicolaas De Jongh. Bailey also directed FAUSTX at Woordfees.
Guests can arrive from 6pm for a pre-show meal on the Werf or at the Vadas or Veld restaurants, with ticket options that include a burger, pizza or sunset picnic, before walking to the amphitheatre beside the river. Bring a warm jacket. Families can stay at Spier Hotel and explore the farm before and after the show.
