Event information
A Concert for Water reflects on the urgencies and shared entanglements which connect, sustain and exult us through water.
The concert concludes the Soil & Water multimedia arts project, which examined the delicate balance of interconnected ecologies through the creativity of artists from across the globe. Musically curated by Rob Allan (DJ Bob), artists present a programme selected and composed for the concert, with the NIROX resident grand piano in the amphitheatre overlooking meandering waterways.
Featured artists include Paul Hanmer, Thandi Ntuli’s “Rainbow Revisited”, Yonela Mnana’s “3quency” (Soultee Sisters, Gontse Makhene, Lebo Ledwaba), Featuring Hymn_self (Siyabonga Mthembu, Solethu Madasa, Vuyo Viwe), Phillippa Yaa De Villiers & Stompie Selibe, and The Cradle Crew.
Hosted by Pule, the concert immerses guests in the folklore, traditions and significance of shared cultures as you celebrate water’s nourishing force. A Concert for Water is a call to awaken and inspire collective goodwill in service of a better future.
