The Italian–South African Chamber of Trade and Industries, in collaboration with the Consulate of Italy in Cape Town and COM.IT.ES (Committee for Italians Abroad), proudly presents Italy in Town – an unforgettable celebration bringing the magic of Italy to the heart of Cape Town.
For two vibrant days, the cobblestone streets of De Waterkant will be transformed into an Italian piazza, alive with authentic cuisine, fine wines, music, entertainment, and family fun. Here’s everything you need to know about this two-day immersive event.

All the Highlights of the Italy in Town Festival
Your Italy in Town Festival ticket unlocks a full weekend of Italian culture, food, wine, entertainment, and family activities. Along with access to all festival areas, every ticket includes a limited-edition Italy in Town tote bag and other surprises for you to discover on the day.
The festival promises two vibrant days of food, culture, and entertainment for all ages. Saturday is set to be a lively celebration packed with live performances, cultural experiences, cooking demonstrations, and evening entertainment, ending with a community rugby viewing. Sunday brings a more relaxed, family-focused atmosphere filled with music, cultural showcases, hands-on workshops, and a festive closing celebration.
Across the weekend, festivalgoers can enjoy a range of highlights. The Main Stage will host live music, Italian jazz and opera performances, cultural showcases, and Italian-inspired masterclasses, while the Family and Kids Zone will keep young visitors entertained with clowns, balloon sculpting, stilt walkers, games, and even Italian lessons for little ones.
For those eager to dive deeper into Italian culture, workshops and experiences include pasta-making classes, food and wine tastings, and interactive sessions. Guests seeking a touch of luxury can unwind in the VIP Lounge, where Italian hospitality and exclusive mingling await.
The Workshops & Experiences lineup is not to be missed. Learn the art of authentic Italian pasta in small, hands-on classes led by expert chefs. Sessions run throughout the weekend, with Saturday at 10am (kids & parent class), 12 noon, 4.30pm, and 6.30pm; and Sunday at 10am (kids & parent class), 12 noon, and 2pm. Pasta classes are R300 per person, while the kids & parent classes are R350 per person.

For wine enthusiasts, guided tasting sessions offer a chance to savour up to 18 of Italy’s finest regional wines while exploring their flavours, aromas, and traditions — all for just R140 per person.
