Klein Alto, situated in the heart of the Helderberg in Stellenbosch, is functioning as the ‘home away from home’ for Alto Wine Estate while it undergoes various renovations. However, the estate continues to offer a variety of summer experiences, with their new summer menu, Sunset Rouge experiences, and more. Here’s everything you need to know.

Klein Alto’s New Summer Menu
The new summer menu at Klein Alto Restaurant showcases a selection of fresh seasonal creations.
Begin your experience with smoked salmon croquettes or Patagonian squid, then indulge in mains such as seared duck breast, grilled Norwegian salmon, or the rich and creamy prawn pasta bake. End on a sweet note with the renowned baked cheesecake or the Crème Brûlée flavour of the day.
Meanwhile, the popular date night experience is available every Wednesday evening. Indulge in a specially crafted 4-course meal including an amuse-bouche, starter, main course, and dessert to share complemented by a bottle of either the Alto Rouge or Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé.

Sunset Rouge Experience
The popular Sunset Rouge evenings are back and better than ever!
Sip on award-winning Alto wines, enjoy a specially curated limited menu from the on-site restaurant, and soak in the breathtaking panoramic views of the Helderberg while enjoying live music by local musicians.
Featuring an epic lineup of local artists, the Sunset Rouge experience is an unforgettable evening of artistry. Check out the blog for the full lineup of artists.

Summer Canapé & Wine Pairing
The brand-new Summer Canapé and Wine Pairing is now available in the Klein Alto Tasting Room.
Savour four specially crafted canapés, each perfectly paired with a selection of one of the signature Alto wines:
- Cabernet Sauvignon Rosé with seared rainbow trout
- Alto Rouge with a mini version of our iconic Alto Rouge burger
- Shiraz with Springbok carpaccio
- And to finish on a sweet note, enjoy the Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a rich, decadent dark chocolate torte
