Baked Shakespeare
After a successful run at The Outlore Base, Baked Shakespeare’s freshest production, ‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’ comes to Cafe Roux this weekend, with their classic cannabis twist.
‘The Two Gentlemen of Verona’ is a Shakespearean comedy following the story of two friends, Valentine and Proteus, who are on the brink of their adulthood, experiencing adventure, betrayal and love for the first time. Chaos ensues when they both fix their eyes on the same girl. This show, directed by Kimberly Buckle, has something for everyone from steamy love triangles, gender bending, audience interaction, and of course, raucous fight scenes.

Red Cross Society High Tea and Auction

Table Mountain Cableway’s Kidz Season Promo
Table Mountain Cableway’s Kidz Season is here to keep the winter blues away. The little ones will get the chance to encounter one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and discover the Mother City’s most iconic landmark.

The Little Mermaid at the Canal Walk Children’s Theatre
Looking for a kids’ activity that’s indoors and interesting? The Canal Walk Children’s Theatre is presenting a captivating performance of The Little Mermaid during the school holidays.
In this enchanting classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen, an 18-year-old mermaid dreams of living on land. Fred Abrahamse and Marcel Meyer, world-renowned and award-winning directing, production, designing, and acting duo, produce and direct the production.

Wild Winter Food Walk
Join Roushanna Gray and the Veld & Sea team for an educational walk and talk in and around cultivated wild herb gardens, as well as the farm and fynbos mountainside, in search of wild flavours. After a wintery walk, guests can warm up back at the Glasshouse with fynbos chai tea and wild greens soup. All participants leave with the plants they forage and follow-up PDF notes and recipes are sent to attendees after the event. This is a perfect date idea for couples, as well as friends and family who love the outdoors.
For a successful foraging outing, guests should bring along a basket and scissors/secateurs, a notebook and pen, a water bottle and extra snacks if required, warm winter outdoor gear, and waterproof comfortable walking shoes/boots (the event goes ahead in the rain).

Cape Gate Ice Rink Winter Season
Skaters of all skill levels can dust off their skates as the Capegate Shopping Centre’s Ice Rink is all set to greet happy young feet (ages 3 to 13 years only) when it glides into action between 14 June and 7 July these winter school holidays, for what one young skater last year described as “the best place in the world”.
Situated in Bridge Court near Entrance 4, the specially created rink measuring 15 x 8 meters, and made with real ice, offers young skaters the perfect way to beat the winter blues and stay active. Family members can relax and watch the fun from the nearby seating area, however, adults are welcome to assist the little ones on the ice, if necessary. The centre’s highly skilled friendly staff are also on-hand, keeping a watchful eye on the ice capades and lending a helping hand if needs be.

SA Lippizaners Classical Performance
This is an opportunity for the whole family to see these wonderful animals in action, in an interactive, educational and musical experience for the young and young at heart. Watch the Lipizzaners perform jaw-dropping movements used in ancient battles and dance to tunes you can’t help but sing along to.
After the show, guests can join the trainers in the idyllic barn to meet the stallions and even feed them some treats. Bring your own carrots!

The Butterfly Effect dance event
Habitat presents The Butterfly Effect, the ultimate warehouse rendezvous happening this winter. This is a once off eight-hour industrial edition of Habitat with a powerhouse of a line up. The event is also graced with the incredible technology of Void Acoustics sound and spectacular, cutting-edge lighting.
Guests will be able to soak up techno, electronic, trance and electro music from Audiojerk who has played a set for Boiler Room, one of the biggest music event platforms worldwide, as well as familiar face in the Habitat family, Itone. Also playing is Geometric Flux who is a talented Habitat veteran, Joburg-born Steph Vass who is known for his fluid brand of progressive music, Cape Town-based DJ Robbie Dinnie, and visual artist Almero.
