Event information
The West Coast National Park in full bloom is renowned as a breathtaking sight. Table Mountain Treks and Tours leads an unforgettable hike along the Steenbok Trail - the ultimate Spring Flower Hike.
Postberg, the floral jewel of the park, welcomes visitors from August to September, treating them to a mesmerising display of daisies as far as the eye can see, as well as delicate viooltjies, vibrant irises and intricate orchids.
The guided hike is carefully timed to ensure participants witness the flowers in their prime during the middle to late part of the season. As they traverse the trail, an expert guide provides fascinating insights into the local ecology.
The hike covers a distance of 16.5 kilometres and lasts approximately seven hours, making it of moderate difficulty.
To make the most of the experience, it is highly recommended to bring good hiking shoes, sun protection (including a hat and sunscreen), a warm top, a rain jacket, water, and lunch or trail snacks. NB dogs are not allowed on the trail.
The ticket cost includes the trail permit fee and the services of a professional guide. Please note that the gate entry fee for SANParks West Coast National Park is not included and must be paid upon arrival at the gate.
