Diffuse the winter blues with winter grooves with Warm Winter Wingles, a winter event organised by the people responsible for the popular Secret Sunrise series. Using headphone technology, headsets are handed to attendees on arrival, after which, accredited facilitators guide them through a series of music of all genres.
These public sessions encompass a variety of mindful practices, including meditation, breath work, movement and dance. Each session is unique, often curated according to a theme that attendees come together to celebrate and are even welcome to dress up. This instalment's 'Warm Winter Wiggles' theme calls for attendees to dress in bright colours, whilst ensuring their warmth from the Cape winter.
This event is staged in collaboration with the UPliftment Programme (The UP), for which they are accepting #ShareTheJoy donations on the day. The UP has been sharing joy with youth, children, differently abled and the elderly for 18 years. For the past four years this inspired organisation has taken the headsets and the Secret Sunrise formula and added joy tools - to bring much needed emotional and mental wellness to youth and children.
Note that all attendees should arrive half an hour early, at 7am, to collect their headsets for the session.
