Johannesburg’s first gin distillery Time Anchor Distillery hosts a gin tasting experience at the distillery. Gin connoisseurs can visit the distillery, learn about, explore and taste special gins.
The gin tastings follow a formal, sit down, taste and discuss format, allowing guests to ask questions and engage about the three different liquids the distillery has to offer, namely; Mirari Blue Orient Spice, Mirari Pink Damask Rose Gin and the Mirari African Botanical Gin. This is followed by a perfect service from Mirari’s Limited Edition Celebration Gin infused with 23-carat gold flakes.
There are only 20 spaces per session available for these tastings.
The distillery also offers occasional gin crafting journies which include gin education.
Attendees dive into the captivating world of gin and distillation, unlocking the secrets that make a great gin under the expert tutelage of Shanna-Rae. With a library of over 40 botanicals, one can create a one-of-a-kind blend that resonates with their festive spirit, setting the foundation for unique gin creation.
This creates a hands-on distillation process where guests engage with the age-old art of distillation using our traditional, imported copper pot stills, an intimate step into the heart of gin crafting. The final process includes the creation of a personalised bottle of crafted gin.
The class is a 3-hour immersive gin crafting and tasting session.
