A Special and intimate Folk/Country/Bluegrass evening with The Betsies, filled with new songs and stories, and a big band at The Alma Cafe on the 3rd of February 2023.
The Betsies is a Country/Folk/Bluegrass Band from Cape Town, South Africa. Started and fronted by sisters, Landi Degenaar (Vocals, Banjo and Harmonica) and Zelmari Degenaar (Vocals and Acoustic Guitar) with Christo JJ Loots (Electric Guitar and Mandolin), Paul Lodewyk Avenant (Drums), Geraint Bojé (Bass) and Hugo Veldsman (Steel Guitars).
Their shows are mostly full of original Afrikaans and English songs, and a few good old Country covers. With their catchy tunes, blood harmonies, and country rhythms accompanied by their storytelling and heartbreak lyrics, they'll have you honky tonkin’ all night long.
