Event information
The 48-hour Film Project is an opportunity for film-lovers of all types, from enthusiasts, to amateurs, to professionals to gather teammates, friends, colleagues or family for the ultimate filmmaking challenge.
Participating teams must write, shoot and edit a short film of up to seven minutes based on a genre drawn at The Kickoff and the required character, prop, and line assigned for their film. All films receive a local screening and films submitted within the stipulated time are eligible for prizes, including a Best Directing, Best Acting, Best Film, and Audience Award.
The winner of Best Film goes to Filmapalooza in March 2025, and is eligible for a spot in their screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner. This is an opportunity for participants to try something new and level up their filmmaking.
Filming takes place between 9 and 11 August, followed by the official premiere screenings on 23 August, before the awards ceremony on 28 August.
