Thirteen artists come together in 'Taking A Moment': a new group show at RK Contemporary De Waterkant.
The show features a mix of emerging and established artists playing with time across different mediums. The exhibition interrogates assumptions of stillness within moments of pause. When taking a pause, it's likely to be looking for a sense of stillness. 'Taking A Moment' argues that these moments are anything but still. Rather, present time is influenced by infinite layers of history and memory.
The show ponders: 'When taking a moment, what can be seen?'.
The exhibition opening function takes place Saturday 24 August 2024 at 5.30pm. There is also a walkabout at the gallery on the following Saturday 31 August at 11.30am. Here, guests can walk through the gallery alongside the curator, Simona Stone, as well as a group of the participating artists.
