Licensed sports skydivers are welcome seven days a week at Skydive Parys, subject to aircraft and lift capacity on the day. First-timers brave enough to try out an unforgettable freefall experience are also welcome to book tandem sessions.
No previous experience is needed to join in on the action as Skydive Parys has a professional team of tandem masters on hand to take guests through unforgettable 0-200km/h freefalls.
Parachutes are deployed at a safe altitude, facilitating a 5 - 7 minute canopy flight to a drop zone on the banks of the Vaal River. The tandem experience begins with a 15-minute briefing covering all aspects of the skydive, the parachute system, aircraft exit, freefall body position, parachute flight, and the parachute landing.
Each person is fitted with a specifically designed tandem harness, jump pants and goggles and is assigned to a tandem master. The climb to altitude takes approximately 15 minutes.
Based in Parys Airfield, this Free State skydiving center is in the Vredefort Dome World heritage site. Every person’s jump is filmed and photographed and everyone is awarded a certificate of achievement.
