Event information
Visitors to Sun City now have the chance to explore the history of the North West province at Segaetsho Cultural Village. Located near the Sun City Shebeen, Segaetsho (‘our heritage’ in Setswana) explores Batswana culture through music, art, traditional dance, fashion, photography and food.
It is managed by Thuto Legwale, who has curated the experience to highlight Tswana culture. Each tour begins with arts and craft viewings, then continues on to a Batswana Village where one can learn about diverse Batswana clans.
Part of the tour includes performances of pantsula, gumboot dancing, and contemporary fusion dance. Guests can also shop for bespoke African artefacts at the Segaetsho Kiosk. The store comprises handmade gifts and crafts, fashion and accessories, creative decorative art, photographic prints, portraits and African musical instruments.
