Seeds of the Fig

Event information

'Seeds of the Fig' is a sculpture exhibition, curated by RESERVOIR, showing at the Krone X WHATIFTHEWORLD Gallery in Tulbagh until March 2023.

This exhibition showcases work created by 24 artists from across the African continent and is an exploration of contemporary sculptural practice, 'Seeds of the Fig' is the first exhibition from RESERVOIR and the idea was sparked by ten caskets by Ghanaian artist Ibrahim Mahama, which had to be locked away in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The WHATIFTHEWORLD Gallery was established at the Twee Jonge Gezellen wine estate in Tulbagh and art pieces are showcased in a historical building onsite. Some of the artists featured in this exhibition are Rowan Smith, Tangeni Kambudu, Serge Alain Nitegeka, Thami Kiti and Abdus Salaam.

This event came about because of a partnership Krone established with both RESERVOIR and the WHATIFTHEWORLD Gallery and takes place on the Krone farm.
