Open Book Festival Youth Festival

Event information

The Open Book Festival is an annual literary festival held in September, with a focus on South African literature in an international context. Though, in recent years, the book festival introduced an annual Youth festival which is held earlier in the year than the original book festival.

This year is no exception as the Youth Festival, a standalone event featuring activities for all the young ones, returns. The Youth Festival includes storytime sessions, writing and storytelling workshops, presentations by writers, and open mic sessions for aspiring poets.

The festival takes place at various schools, libraries and other venues. All events are free to attend, but registration is required.
