Visitors to Neil Moss’s Studio in Pretoria can view the ever-growing collection of original oil and watercolour paintings being created in the studio. The artist, Neil Moss, has established himself as a gifted art teacher over the years, and offers oil, acrylic and watercolour painting lessons and courses in a friendly welcoming environment.
The Oils and Acrylic Course is filled with laughter and mingling like all his courses. Painters improve and develop their technique while painting at their individual pace. In this course, Neil teaches how to start a painting, which paints to use, and understanding colours and mixing them as well as multiple perspectives and drawing from photographs.
The Watercolour art course introduces watercolour materials and covers drawing and observation, composition and perspectives, stretching paper, washes and brush techniques. Seeing as watercolour has its own colour mixing methods, this will also be covered along with painting foreground, middle ground and background, painting skies, and the popular wet in wet watercolour technique.
During his courses, Neil shares many tricks and techniques and gives multiple demonstrations and painting exercises. Neil also leads 2-hour art classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays where guests can continue a previous project or start a new one with his guidance. Art trollies, easels and refreshments are provided, however, participants are responsible for their art material.
