Event information
Natasja De Wet Studios in Kirstenhof hosts painting and mixed media art workshops that focus on self-exploration while developing fine art techniques. Natasja teaches portrait painting, painting, drawing and mixed media workshops and private classes regularly.
The Self-Exploration mixed media workshops explore basic art-making techniques using unconventional mixed media. Artists experiment with a combination of acrylic and water-based paint as well as charcoal, pencil, ink, and graphite. The Self-Exploration Portrait Painting Workshop guides participants though self-portrait exercises where artists will discover the external presentation of the internal self. The Self-Exploration workshop encourages open-minded and expressive exploration of various techniques that push boundaries of how participants understand the art of painting. Artists learn to combine thick, opaque, and bold paint as well as how to layer them in a subtle way.
Natasja additionally teaches drawing workshops where artists experiment with various materials such as hard and soft pencils and graphite. All Natasja De Wet classes encourage participants to learn, share and create together in a collaborative and encouraging environment.
Workshops take three hours and include tea and cake breaks. Participants can bring their own materials, or pay a fee to have materials provided by the studio.
