The Mystery Ghost Tour is no ordinary tour. This unique experience offers a variety of science, entertainment, history, and some chilling surprises. Visitors can expect haunted and poltergeist buildings, paranormal science with demonstrations (eg: dowsing rods audience participation), ghost hunting cellphone apps, entrance to historical graveyards with a thrilling visual climax, and personal testimonies all led by illusionist and celebrity paranormalist, Mark Rose-Christie.
The tour takes place in the form of a "Jaunt" where guests use their own vehicles in convoy following the same route. Each car should have a driver and at least one passenger. Passenger riders are given a script with a few stories to read along the way until they get to certain stops where the host takes over. Guests are also welcome to bring picnic baskets and their own snacks to enjoy along the way.
Though the tour bus is no longer publicly operational, it is still available to be booked for private groups of 20 or more persons for birthdays, team building events, launches and parties, hen and bachelor events, year-end functions, social clubs, hotels and tourism groups, and more. The Mystery Ghost Tour is active in Cape Town once or twice a year, with the next tour in 2024 taking place on 2 November.
