Event information
This month, the Rupert Museum's October edition of Museum Saturday gets a change of scenery, with a pop-up style day held at PJ Olivier Art Centre. From 10am to 4pm, enjoy a fun and family-friendly art day with a variety of special workshops taught by Francesco Nassimbeni on offer.
From 10am to 12pm, children between the ages of 8 and 12 years old are invited to join in a celebration of their abilities to make and create. In a workshop called 'Drawing from Nature: The Ecology of Play', kids are given the opportunity to unlock their inner creativity with playful and experimental activities. As a group, a paper mural focusing on 'The Forest' is constructed as a communal project.
Then, from 1pm to 4pm, teens from the ages of 13 to 16 are given the chance to explore their inner creativity in 'Drawing from Nature for Teens: Into the Forest'. Here, young participants are also celebrating the power of making and sharing, while working toward a communal mural project with the theme 'The Forest'. For this age group, there is added focus on biodiversity, and upon the little details that make ecosystems so complex, and life-giving.
Snack packs and all materials are provided for the children attending workshops.
While the museum and its café are closed for maintenance until late February 2025, there is still an opportunity for the next generation of creatives to enjoy the Rupert Museum in a new and exciting temporary location.
