Moholoholo Wildlife

Event information

Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is home to many of South Africa’s abandoned, injured and poisoned wildlife.

Often faced with the difficult decision of what to do with an injured or poisoned animal which cannot be released back into the wild, the Centre is home to a number of 'permanent residents' that act as ambassadors for their respective species. The Centre provides a rare opportunity for members of the public to get close to, and observe these animals.

The Centre has a longstanding and successful Serval Breeding Project and more than 160 of the animals have successfully been reintroduced to areas where they have become extinct. The Centre is also involved in research on the movement and behaviour of leopards and a number of vulture species that are monitored daily at their vulture restaurant.
