Event information
An exclusive 20-seater dining event put together by the team behind Manchesters's Higher Ground Restaurant.
Pooling collective expertise from some of the world's top restaurants (Blue Hill at Stone Barns, noma and Relæ), the Higher Ground team
visits South Africa to offer an authentic dining experience, with expertly prepared local produce complimented by paired beverages.
The event begins with a welcome drink crafted from Meuse Farm botanicals, while guests are guided through an inspiring introduction to the farm and the ingredients that form the focal point of the menu. Participants can expect a seasonally inspired set sharing menu, with multiple dishes served over four to five courses.
The curated beverages offering includes a collaboration with pioneer Craig Hawkins on the wines to accompany the menu. The beverage pairing is an optional add-on that can be chosen on the day. The excellent choice of wines are also available to purchase by bottle or by glass.
NB The price per head is inclusive of the farm introduction and food price only. Beverages are charged separately, and a 12.5% service charge will be added to the final bill on the day.
Joe Otway, Richard Cossins and Daniel Craig Martin met Iming - the owner of Meuse Farm - in 2016 at the Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture in New York. Drawn there by a shared love of responsible farming practices, great ingredients, and the value of close relationships
between producers and chefs, the four have stayed friends.
Each collaborator brings their own unique lens - Iming is passionate about growing flavourful vegetables, Joe transforms them into elegant and delicious dishes, and Richard and Daniel bridge everything with exquisite drinks and warm front of house hospitality.
The four are joined by Craig Hawkins, the winemaker behind Testalonga, one of the region’s pioneering natural wineries.
Starting in 2008, Craig has been changing the landscape of wine and organic farming in South Africa and inspiring many of the next generation of winemakers.
