A StrangerKind (ASK) hosts events at which members of the public can have a one-on-one conversation with strangers and ask questions in a space that promotes curiosity, diversity, understanding and social cohesion.
Lekker Chats is a MeetUp group facilitating "good conversations with open-minded people".
These two simple-yet-formidable formats are collaborating for an event that specifically discusses “love” in its full glory: self-love, platonic love, parental love, romantic love, universal love, etc.
This Lekker Chats and ASK collaboration event will have two parts:
1) Volunteer Q&A. 10+ volunteers from A StrangerKind share their personal stories within small groups and answer your questions about their unique perspectives on love – love on the spectrum, in gang communities, with depression, through organ donation and more. Participants can ask them ANYTHING. No question is off-limits.
2) Group Discussion. Participants then break into groups of ±5 people and provide question prompts to spark meaningful reflection and dialogue with fellow curious, open-minded humans.
Each participant has the opportunity to sit with 2 volunteers (30min each) and participate in 2 group discussions (30min each). The rest of the time is designated for socialising, with a few surprises planned to help facilitate connection and good vibes.
