The open air Boeremark makes for an easy weekly outing for locals to meet up with family and friends on a Saturday morning. This casual shopping destination is a typical flea market where you can come across anything from homemade knitting products, to dried fruit and nuts, clothes and toys.
One can find organic vegetables, biscuits and rusks, pancakes, furniture, clocks, books, stationary, hardware tools and much more.
Bloemfontein Farmers Market usually has affordable items for the garden, such as plants, herbs and seeds; and there’s also plenty of art works, mosaic mirrors, and arts and crafts from neighbouring countries.
There are formal stalls, but some people also sell goods from the back of their cars. Enjoy some local country food while wandering around looking for a bargain. The route is laid out in a zig-zag fashion, and takes about an hour to complete.
