Jozi Tours presents the HiddenHistory experience.
Starting in Newtown, participants gather at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Nwetown taking a moment to reflect on the life of ‘Pick Handle Mary” one of Joburg’s first formidable woman.
From Newtown the tour leads to Kerk Street, through the fruit and veg market up to Anstey’s in Joubert street – one of the city’s first Art Deco wonders.
The tour then leads to the North Gauteng High Court and at the feet of Mining Commissioner Carl von Brandis a reflection on the early mining days and the establishment of the village “Randjieslaagte”, that soon become Johannesburg takes place.
This tour takes tourists to key areas that have an impact on Johannesburg's history and it is four hours long.
