Embo, a programme that uses music, exhibition, and dialogue to commemorate historical icons and events, hosts an exhibition honouring Mkhulu Mangaliso Robert Sobukwe.
The exhibition is curated by Ms. Gcotyelwa Mashiqa will give viewers a glimpse into Sobukwe’s selfless contributions and detail his resilience to the brutality visited upon him.
The exhibition is part of a 2-day event consisting of lectures and panel discussions, and a music concert featuring IsiXhosa inspired music of Odwa Bongo and the sounds of Zawadi yaMungu, The only known meeting between Steve Biko and Sobukwe in Ga-Kgosi Galeshewe will also be reincarnated when Iphupho L’ka Biko pays homage to Sobukwe in song.
