Event information
Destiny Castle sits on top of a 460-hectare mountain estate on the Fouriesburg / Lesotho border in the Eastern Free State. It has panoramic views over the Maluti mountain range and surrounding valleys. The centrepiece of the property is a sandstone castle, which is a copy of a medieval castle which the Fogg family started to build in the 1970’s, but only completed 30 years later.
There are a couple of ways to visit the property. These include a luxurious overnighter which can accommodate up to 8 persons, and guided tours, which one arranges at the Union House Guesthouse about 10km outside Fouriesburg. Guided tours cater for up to 20 people: there’s a self-drive option, or being driven up on the back of a 4x4 vehicle.
There are many nooks and crannies to explore at Destiny Castle, which boasts every modern convenience. Guests can make use of their spa, library, theatre and various terraces and lounges. The more active can enjoy guided walks, birding, a visit to San rock art site, hiking, fly-fishing and mountain biking.
