Cheverells Farm is a third generation family owned farm located in the heart of Elgin Valley which is a mere 60 minute drive from Cape Town. Whether it is a weekend away, a day trip from the city or an extended retreat to recharge your batteries, the scenery and offerings will provide a memorable experience.
Cheverells Farm is the home of a newly refurbished farm shed with a country café and gift shop, wellness studio as well as a glass greenhouse nursery.
There also are two quaintly decorated farm cottages offering guests self-catering accommodation with exquisite views over the apple orchards.
The self-catering cottages for accommodation have been quaintly decorated and designed to give guests a wonderfully relaxing farmy feel. They are also pet-friendly, with a few terms and conditions that are part of the pet policy. The accommodation offering includes the entrancing Kiku and Braeburn cottages. Kiku Cottage is named after one of the newer apple varieties. This cottage overlooks the view of the Elgin Valley of orchards and mountains. It is tastefully decorated and offers self-catering cottage facilities with small luxuries like 400 thread count linen, complementary toiletries and delicious farm style rusks to enjoy with morning coffee.
Braeburn Cottage is named after the old fashioned Braeburn Apple, a classic fresh-eating apple with an intense, unique flavour and a brightly striped peel. This cottage is tucked behind Kiku Cottage and next to a little balancing dam that is filled with water lilies and surrounded by proteas, aloes and other indigenous plants that attract many of the famous bird-life. It is tastefully decorated and offers self-catering cottage facilities with small luxuries like 400 thread count linen, complementary toiletries and delicious farm style rusks to enjoy with morning coffee.
The Cheverells Farm Shed runs a series of events and workshops covering topics like seasonal gardening tips, painting courses, floral arranging workshops to mention a few. Other events and activities include apple-picking mornings during the harvest season from February – April, pop-up markets and gourmet evenings where they team up with a wine farm and present a fine-dining menu to pair with their wines.
The sheer beauty of Cheverells Farm Shed makes it the perfect venue for private functions for up to 70 people.
