Cape Town Pride is a week of festivals, parties and other events that normally runs towards the end of February every year in Cape Town.
The event acts as a platform for Cape Town’s LGBTQ+ community to raise awareness of issues that affect queer people such as homophobia, social exclusion and violence.
Leading to the main parade through the heart of Cape Town CBD, the organisers host small social outreach events at various communities around Cape Town. During COVID restrictions, all events are planned to be live-streamed or packaged after the event for viewing for those members of the public who are at risk.
Cape Town Pride is working closely with the City of Cape Town to make sure all regulations are followed and that everyone is going to be kept safe in whatever they do. The event organisers are adding a pride market day, a couple of pride drive-in movie nights, a socially-distanced awards dinner and an inaugural fashion week
