Event information
The 2024 Basketball Africa League (BAL) season features the top 12 club teams from 12 African countries playing a record 48 games across four African countries - South Africa, Egypt, Senegal and Rwanda - over four months.
This marks the first BAL games in South Africa and the first time the league will play in four different countries. The participating teams come from the following African regions: Senegal, Rwanda, Egypt, Libya, Central African Republic, South Africa, Uganda, Burundi, Morocco, Angola, Nigeria, and Tunisia.
The matches taking place in South Africa are between the four teams that makeup the Kalahari Conference. The teams representing this conference include the Cape Town Tigers (South Africa), Clube Atlético Petroleos de Luanda (Angola), Dynamo Basketball Club (Burundi), and Fath Union Sports de Rabat (Morocco).
Each team will battle it out in six matches before those that come out on top are able to progress towards becoming BAL champions.
